Mylan's M 752 Pill

Until recently, we had thought that there is no Mylan 752 pill. In fact, there really isn't, when speaking of a pill indexed with "MYLAN" letters. However, there is a pill with the number "752", and this pill is produced by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. Instead of "MYLAN" it has a single letter "M". So, we should better call it Mylan M 752 pill (round, blue-colored). It is Fexofenadine HCl 30 mg, generic for Allegra. The medication mainly is used 1) to relieve symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children aged 2 and above, and 2) to treat uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children of 6 months and older.

Mylan 1560 - Phenytoin capsules

One half of them is always white-colored. The other half is normally described as lavender, though some people tend to call it light purple or bluish gray. On both halves "Mylan 1560" can be seen printed in black ink. So, what do we have after all? It is extended-release Phenytoin (generic Dilantin), an anti-convulsant used to control seizures. The dose of Phenytoin Sodium in each capsule is 100 mg. The medication may have some specific adverse effects, among which we find a serious skin reaction with higher risk of development in Asian patients. It is strongly recommended to take a specific blood test before starting treatment.

Mylan 185

Propranolol hydrochloride again. This time it is not a capsule, it is a pill (a tablet), small, round, yellow, scored, with "MYLAN 185" stamped on the front side. The letters are above the numbers, divided by the score. Each tablet contains 80 mg Propranolol HCl - the recommended initial daily dose, by the way. The medication belongs to beta-blockers and is used to treat hypertension, heart rhythm disorders and chest pains caused by angina pectoris.

Mylan 232 Tablet

Though it is almost the same as the page about Mylan 216, the image is different. The other difference is that Mylan 232 is indexed with "80" on the reverse. It means that the pill contains 80 mg of furosemide (generic Lasix) - twice as much as Mylan 216 pill (indexed "40").

Mylan 1700 Capsule

Mylan 1700 capsule is light gray to brown, the index is written on both sides of it in black ink. As for inside, it is filled with yellow powder. This yellow powder is Nitrofurantoin macrocrystal used for the treatment of urinary bacterial infections. Each capsule contains 100 mg of Nitrofurantoin (generic for Macrobid, Macrodantin, Furadontin and some other brands). That's easy. The problem is WHAT is the difference between Mylan 1700 and Mylan 3422 capsules, apart of the fact that the first ones are brownish gray and the latter ones have one half in gray and the other half is peach-colored? BOTH are equal in strength - 100mg Nitrofurantoin. BOTH are stuffed with macrocrystals of yellow color (they dissolve slower than crystals of usual size, and it make the formula extended-release). WHY does Mylan Pharmaceuticals manufacturers two types of capsules that seem to be very similar? That is the question we are not ready to answer. Perhaps, Nitrofurantoin crystals do differ in them some way? Will anyone comment, please?

Mylan 186

The other version of Mylan's Clonidine is Mylan 186 - a 0.2mg tablet (white, scored), used to treat hypertension, etc (the same as with Mylan 152, just the strength is twice as much). Clonidine is also available with a prescription under the brand names Catapres and Duraclon, but they are not Mylan's products.

Mylan 152

Mylan 152 white tablet is Clonidine 0.1 mg. (The writing is divided by a score, the reverse side of the tablet is blank. "152" may sometimes look as "752".) The medicine is used to treat hypertension. But affecting the brain chemicals (and only then, as a result, the blood vessels), Clonidine is also used to treat painful menstrual periods, menopausal flushing, diabetic diarrhea, Tourette's Syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), postherpetic neuralgia, ulcerative colitis, and withdrawal symptoms from dependence on narcotics, alcohol, or nicotine (smoking), although these are not approved by FDA.

Mylan's Alprazolam (Mylan A Pills)

We have data on four different alprazolam pills manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals. All of them are indexed with "A" and three of them have a number: A1, A3, and A4. Surprisingly, the strengths of the pills don't change from less to larger in correspondence with the numbers:

Mylan A is alprazolam 0.25 mg,
Mylan A1 is alprazolam 1 mg,
Mylan A3 is alprazolam 0.5 mg,
Mylan A4 is alprazolam 2 mg.

As for description, A, A1 and A4 pills are white, and A3 pill is peach-colored. All of the pills are scored on the reverse side, with A4 pill having two criss-crossed scores (to be divided into four parts about 0.5 mg of alprazolam each).

Mylan 5211

Omeprazole (generic Prilosec) is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux
disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid. Mylan Pharmaceuticals manufactures this medication in the form of green capsules indexed Mylan 6150 and Mylan 5211. In Mylan 5211 the amount of omeprazole is 1o mg (as compared to 20 mg in Mylan 6150). Omeprazole is one of the most widely prescribed stomach drugs available under various brand names throughout the world and it may be used for the treatment of irritation of the esophagus caused by GERD, for healing of erosive esophagitis, for the treatment of alcoholic or life-style associated gastritis, for short-term treatment of ulcers of the stomach or small intestines, and even to decrease the risk of stomach bleeding in patients suffering from severe forms of ulcers.

Mylan 6150

Description: dark/light green capsule with "MYLAN 6150" written on its sides.
Drug: Omeprazole (generic Prilosec)
Srength: 20 mg
Usage: stomach problems (too much acid in stomach).

These capsules may look slightly different, but one half is always darker than the other, the color may be described as bluish-green. Decreasing the amount of acid produced in the stomach, Omeprazole is one of the most widely prescribed stomach drugs available under various brand names throughout the world.
